ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A new Wal-Mart is scheduled to open in Wasilla on March 29.

The 156,000-square-foot store at 1350 S. Seward Meridian Parkway will be open 24 hours a day, the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailing giant said Monday.

Wal-Mart also is planning to open a store in Ketchikan in the spring of 2001, and a new Wal-Mart store will be opening soon in Eagle River, officials said.

Wal-Mart is the nation's largest retailer. It entered the Alaska market in the early 1990s with two stores in Anchorage and a smaller one in Wasilla. It opened a new store in Kodiak last spring.
