KENAI (AP) -- A Nikiski student has won a national environmental award for a watershed game he created.

Alden Ford, a senior at Nikiski Junior-Senior School, won the President's Environmental Youth Award for Region 10, which includes Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.

The awards are presented by the federal Environmental Protection Agency.

Ford will make an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., next month to collect his award and demonstrate his winning project. He will also tour the nation's capital and meet with members of Congress.

Ford created a CD-ROM called ''The Kenai Peninsula's Incredible Water Maze.'' The game of 20 questions is intended to teach fifth- and sixth-grade students about the peninsula's watersheds.
