Workshop held to write grants

An introduction to grant writing workshop will be presented at 9 a.m. today by Stan Steadman of Entrepreneurs Corner. The cost is $35. To register, call 260-2663.

Program to be discussed at luncheon

The topic of the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon is the Caring for the Kenai program, presented by Denise Newbould of Unocal. The meeting is open to the public and will be held today at noon at the Old Town Village restaurant.

Little Lost Angels meet today

The Little Lost Angels will hold a parents bereavement group today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bridges in Soldotna. This is for parents who have lost a child. There is no charge.

Advisory committee to meet

The Kenai/Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Board of Fisheries proposals will be the topic of the meeting.

Booth space available for upcoming bazaar

The Nikiski Senior Center is gearing up for its annual spring bazaar and bake sale in April. Tables are available for rent for $10 per day; the deadline to sign up is March 15. For more information, call 776-7654.

Forum held to discuss tobacco use

The Tobacco Control Alliance of the Peninsula will sponsor a peninsulawide community forum at 7 p.m. March 16 at Skyview High School. The forum will discuss issues relating to tobacco use and clean indoor air. The forum is open to the public. For more information, call Patti at 260-3682.

ABC to conduct lottery

The Aurora Borealis Charter School will conduct an enrollment lottery April 10. The lottery determines the 2001-02 school year placement of students currently on the waiting list.

Applications and copies of the enrollment and lottery procedures are available at the school office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All applications must be delivered in person to the school office no later than 4 p.m. March 16. The lottery results will be posted at the school office on April 16. For more information, call 283-0292.

KBEA scholarship applications available

The Kenai Borough Employees Association scholarship committee is accepting applications for four scholarships of $500 each. The scholarships are available to all 2001 graduates of the Kenai Peninsula Borough, including public, private and home-schooled individuals.
