Bazaar, bake sale planned
The Nikiski Senior Citizens Center is gearing up for its annual spring bazaar and bake sale April 4-6. Those with crafts to display are encouraged to rent a table for $10. To reserve space, call Leigh or Sherry at 776-7654.
Poetry workshop to be held
A poetry slam workshop will be held March 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. The workshop will be followed by an evening poetry slam performance from 7 to 9 p.m. at Buster's Coffeehouse behind Summit Cleaners in Kenai.
The workshop will be facilitated by Nicole Stellon O'Donnell of the Alaska Poetry League in Fairbanks and is an opportunity for poets to share ideas and inspiration. Participants should bring works in progress for workshop writing exercises.
Preregistration is required by March 11 for the workshop. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for high school students. lunch will be provided. Registration forms are available at the Kenai Community Library and the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. For more information, call the library at 283-4378.
Pratt Museum seeking volunteers
The Pratt Museum is looking for volunteers interested in the history, natural history and arts of Kachemak Bay and the Southern Kenai Peninsula to work in a variety of museum departments. Anyone interested in education, public information, retail, museum collections or general office tasks is encouraged to contact the museum for more information about volunteer opportunities this spring and summer.
