Prom dress sale to benefit ski team

A prom dress consignment sale will be held today from 2 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Anyone wishing to sell dresses should bring them to the mall Friday between noon and 7 p.m. Thirty percent of the sales will go to the Soldotna High School cross-country ski team. Racing meeting planned

The KPRL-Circle Track Division of Twin City Raceway will hold a general meeting today at 6 p.m. at the Riverside House in Soldotna. It is open to the public. Anyone interested in racing during the 2003 season is encouraged to attend. Rule books will be available. For more information, call Jeannette at 283-8321 or Chet at 283-9078.

Cooper Landing festival set to go

The Cooper Landing Chamber of Commerce will hold its inaugural Cooper Landing Winter Festival today through Sunday in Cooper Landing. The festival will feature volleyball, pinochle, dart and softball tournaments, as well as music, dancing, food and games. For a schedule of events or more information, call (907) 595-8888.

Defensive driving class offered

An AARP 55 Alive defensive driving class will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road in Soldotna. The class is certified by the state for dismissal of traffic citations or a two-point reduction in accumulated points. Anyone is welcome, regardless of age. The cost is $10 for materials.
