Little League registration continues

Registration for Soldotna Little League will be held at the Soldotna Little League Bingo Hall by Sal’s Diner from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Monday and Tuesday and March 20, 21 and 22; and from noon to 5 p.m. March 17 and 24. Registration fees are $40 tee ball and coach pitch and $50 minors through high school. Coaches are also needed. For more information, call Vickie at 398-6363 or Jerry at 260-6650 or 398-7850.

Recycling group to meet

There will be a Re-Group meeting at 6:30 p.m. today in the commons at Kenai Peninsula College. It is open to the public.

Federal subsistence proposals to be discussed

The Kenai/Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet at 7 p.m. today at Kenai Peninsula College in Room 158 to prepare comments on federal subsistence proposals. For more information, call Gary Dawkins at 262-3993.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser

The Kenai Central High and Kenai Middle schools will host at spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:50 p.m. Thursday at the KCHS cafeteria. Both bands will give performances throughout dinner. The cost of admission is $5 if purchased by today or $7.50 at the door. Funds will benefit the bands. For more information, call Brian Moon at 283-5904.

Peaceful people to gather

Digging salmon

Participants of a food cache project at the K’beq Kenaitze Interpretive Site in Cooper Landing will uncover the fish they buried in traditional Kenaitze food storage pits in October in a program Monday. The event is open to the public. For more information, call 283-1490.

Soldotna High parents of juniors after-prom committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the teachers lounge.

Container gardens to be discussed

Peninsula Take-A-Break will meet at 11 a.m. March 14 at Solid Rock Conference Center at Mile 90.5 of the Sterling Highway. Janice Chumley of the Cooperative Extension Service will discuss container gardens. Live music will by Nettie Keller. Anita Bacon also will speak. The cost is $10. Child care will be available. KCHS after-grad committee meeting set

Free aviation safety class offered

The Medallion Foundation will hold a free aviation safety class from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 17 at the Civil Air Patrol Hanger. Participants will learn how to use the PCATD flight simulators, white out, flat light, risk assessment and more.
