Nickelson to speak at luncheon

The North Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will be holding its weekly luncheon today at noon at the Lighthouse Inn. Marion Nickelson with Hospice of the Central Peninsula will be speaking. The public is welcome to attend the event.

Multiple sclerosis self-help meeting today

There will be a multiple sclerosis self-help meeting held at Central Peninsula General Hospital in the Augustine Room today from noon to 2 p.m. There will be a T'ai Chi Ch'uan demonstration by Laryfred Staats. For more information, call 262-8395.

Steering committee meeting today

The Healthy Communities-Healthy People steering committee will meet at 1:30 p.m. today at Bridges Community Resource Network in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-1831.

Workshop offered for computer users

The Small Business Development Center will hold a two-part workshop entitled Introduction to Windows and computers with New Frontier Votec at 6 p.m. today at the Small Business Development Center. The cost is $100.

Master Gardeners to host presentation

The Central Peninsula Master Gardeners will present "Herbs to Grow and Love," today at 7 p.m. at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road.

The presenter will be Mary Shier, of the Alaska Herb Study Group. The presentation will be on some of Shier's most successful and favorite garden herbs. A $2 donation is requested.

Orchestra to present recital

The Kenai Peninsula Orchestra will present a winter recital featuring Matt Yaki on classical guitar Sunday at 3 p.m. The recital will take place at the home of John and Nedra Evenson. The recitals feature chamber music in an intimate setting. Seating is limited. There are tickets available at Alaska Gifts and River City Books.
