Claudville, Va., resident Steve A. James died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at his home in Virginia. He was 54.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hatchers Chapel United Methodist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Erica Durham.
Mr. James was born Nov. 28, 1947, in New Haven, Conn., to Alice M. and Arnold B. James. He graduated from Elon College and was the quality assurance manager at Kaba Ilco in Winston-Salem, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Sue James of Claudville; a daughter, Beth James of High Point, N.C.; sons and daughter-in-law Brian James of Wilmington, N.C., Shane Manuel of Salisbury, N.C., and Judd and Amy Manuel of Kenai; his mother, Alice M. James of Salisbury; and a brother, Charles James of Salisbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 443, Mount Airy, N.C. 27030, or to Amos Cottage, 3325 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.
