Davis competes in snocross

Soldotna's Cory Davis competed in the International Series of Champions AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series on Saturday and Sunday. The tour stopped in Hayward, Wis., for the Hayward 300.

In Pro Open, Davis was fifth in both of his heats. He also finished fifth in the second final. He is currently fifth in the points standings with 255 points. The leader has 363 points.

In Pro Super Stock, Davis finished second in both of his heats. In the final, he crossed at 14th. He is seventh in the points standings with 228 points, while the leader has 332 points.

Soldotna's Liebner finishes ski marathon

Soldotna High School graduate Andy Liebner finished his seventh ski marathon in seven weeks on Saturday at the Yellowstone Rendezvous in Montana. Liebner finished second with a time of 2 hours, 13 minutes, 42.5 seconds. The winner was Leif Zimmerman, who has skied on the World Cup circuit. Zimmerman finished 40 seconds ahead of Liebner.

Fellow Soldotna graduate Brent Knight finished second in the Tour of Anchorage 50-kilometer event on Sunday, crossing the line at 2:11:23.7. He was just one second behind Lars Flora. Also from the peninsula in the top 20 were Soldotna's Adam Reimer at 11th and Pete Alexson at 20th.
