This week Mrs. McCabe's class will complete its study of reptiles. Each student made a papier mache' replica of their reptile and will present their reports to the class. The reptile replicas will be displayed in the school's show-case.
Mrs. Sotelo's class has been exploring chemistry. The students have been making oxygen, CO2 and exploring the properties of polymers. The students, in collaboration with local quilting experts, have discovered many ways to use geometry in their daily lives. The quilts are on display at the school.
Mrs. Holt's class continues to learn about angles and triangles. This past week the class has been discovering the many states of matter in the world and the universe. They will experiment with gases, solids and liquids.
Mrs. Larned's students are completing their study of South America. Each student in the third grade has researched a South American country. The second- and first-graders chose one area of interest to them in South America.
Mrs. Overturf's kindergarteners were treated to after school dog sled ride, courtesy of the Bramante family. The students are continuing to study the world and their universe. They made clay replicas of the Earth, then cut them in half to identify and label the inner core, outer core, mantel and crust.
