NLC awards announced

The Northern Lights Conference basketball awards were announced after the conclusion of the tournament on Saturday in Homer. The awards follow:

Middle school borough ski race held

The Kenai Peninsula Borough middle school ski championships were held Feb. 26 in Homer, with participants doing a 3.5-kilometer freestyle and a 1.6-kilometer classic race.

The top 10 finishers in combined times for the girls were Allie Ostrander of Kenai, Sadie Fox of Soldotna, Hannah Pothast of Soldotna, Kirsten Nyquist of Kenai, Alex Bergholtz of Kenai, Mikaela Salzetti of Kenai, Aziza Shemet-Pitcher of Homer, Aurora Waclawdki of Homer, Jenna Fabich of Homer and Lilly Kincheloe of Kenai.

For the boys, the top 10 were Travis Cooper of Kenai, Levi Michael of Soldotna, Ghen Sasakura of Homer, Jordan Theisen of Kenai, James Butler of Kenai, Christian Olsen of Homer, Porter Livingston of Homer, Ben Westphal of Homer, Tanner Best of Soldotna and Isaac Lewis of Kenai.
