ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage woman died after a midnight traffic accident at a downtown intersection Wednesday night.

Donna Jones, 52, was killed when her 1991 Buick smashed into a 1993 Subaru driven by Kimberly Rivas, 30, also of Anchorage, police said. Rivas was taken to Providence Alaska Medical Center and treated there for internal injuries. Jones died at Alaska Regional Hospital from her injuries.

The accident occurred at an intersection with a traffic light, but it wasn't clear whether one of the drivers had gone through a red light, police reported.
