Kenai resident Stephen S. Wade died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. He was 30.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Wade was born April 3, 1971, in Anchorage. He grew up in the Kenai area and was a graduate of Kenai Central High School. He earned a degree in business administration from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz. He then returned to Kenai and worked at Wade Oilfield Service Company and Offshore Systems in Kenai.
He grew up attending the Methodist church. He was an avid hockey player and played for three years at Northern Arizona, playing all over the country. He also enjoyed skiing, bicycling, ping pong, snowmachining, camping and playing guitar.
His family said, "Stephen played sports intensely and was always a hard, energetic worker. He loved to be around and with people and was always a charming, considerate and loving person. His family can never adequately express how much he was loved and how much he will always be missed."
Mr. Wade is survived by his parents, Jesse S. and Catherine A. Wade; brother, Jesse S. Wade Jr.; grandmother, Willie Bell Wade; and aunts, Gloria Morgan, Dorothy Hudman, Vienna Hall, Sue Crouse and Stella Donnonia.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
