Parents are reminded that students may safely exit and enter vehicles at any point along the sidewalk in front of the school, which will allow several students to be dropped off simultaneously. This will greatly reduce traffic congestion before and after school. The parent support is greatly appreciated in this matter.

The site council will meet at 3:45 p.m. today in the conference room.

March 19 is the end of third quarter. Students will have an early dismissal at 1:55 p.m. Report cards will be sent home.

In addition to students listed last week, Nick Marquardt and Tyler Glidden placed first in the interpretive reading, multiple, category in the school forensics competition. The staff apologizes for the omission.

Blaine Carver was selected as Redoubt's 2004 Masonic Outstanding Student. This annual award is based on academic excellence, leadership, citizenship and school and community involvement. Blaine will represent the school at the Masonic awards presentation on April 15 at Kenai Central High School. The outstanding sixth-graders nominated included Neil Gallagher, Randi Freestone, Grace Valencia, TJ Earll, Emily Erickson, Stryker McLane, Josh Arbach, Michael Dotomain, Silas Rodriguez, Hannah Romberg, Jessica Utrup, Lydia Forbes, Emily Rohloff, Karen Senette, Jenna Redford, Mark Youngren, Emily Smola, Brittany Bush, Robbie Anderson and Leisha Denison. A pizza lunch honoring all nominees and their parents will take place April 14 at the school.

Students raised $176 for the school breakfast program through a special ice cream Friday last week. The staff would like to thank the parents, students and staff who participated.

Kindergarten registration will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 31, April 1 and April 2.

Project Reward assemblies will be March 18. Parents are needed to help with movie and popcorn activities. For more information or to volunteer, call Mrs. Horton or Mrs. Helminski.

The staff would like to congratulate Kayla Hanson and Ryan Lindley. They correctly guessed Mrs. Emery and Mrs. Arthur in the Guess the Staff Member contest.

The student body is offering a $500 scholarship to a local high school graduating senior. Applications must be submitted by March 29.
