Perry H. Cannon
Soldotna resident Perry H. Cannon died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, in Nevada. He was 80.
Services were held in Pahrump, Nev.
Mr. Cannon was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Anadarko, Okla. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the the Lexington in the Korean War. He moved to Alaska in 1982 and owned and operated Alaska Perry Fly with his son, Robert Cannon. He continued to hand tie flies until 2003.
"His favorite pastimes were his horses, fishing, hunting, sports, hanging with his friends at the local diner, spending time with his grandchildren on the Kenai River and watching his great-grandchildren play hockey. He was Holden's and Hunter's biggest fan. He will be greatly missed," his family said.
Mr. Cannon was preceded in death by his mother, Winnie; father, Eugene Cannon; brother, Carl; and sisters, Lois and Gladys.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cannon formerly of Soldotna and now of Nevada; daughters, Nancy Richardson of Anchorage and Karen McAbee of Nevada; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Cannon and Irene Cannon of California; grandchildren, Crystal and David Eastin, Nicole Hollenberg, Brandon and Ryan Cannon and Darrick and Justin Wiggins; great-grandchildren, Matt, Michael and Marcus Eastin and Holden and Hunter Hollenberg; and nieces and nephews, Larry, Sherry, Barbara, Ronnie, Lorraine, Kathy, Mike, Mark, Katrina and Douglas.
Arrangements were made by Pahrump Family Mortuary.
