The Cross Country Junior Nationals, the national championships for skiers ages 15 to 20, continued Wednesday in Minneapolis with the classic mass start races. The Kenai Peninsula is being represented by Bree Mucha of Soldotna High School and Kenai Central graduate and current University of Wisconsin - Green Bay skier Kailey Mucha.
Bree finished 50th in the 10-kilometer Junior 1 event with a time of 36:04. The winner was Corey Stock of Team New England with a time of 32:47.
Kailey finished 24th in the Older Junior 10-kilometer event with a time of 37:36. Jesse Diggins of Team Midwest won at 33:33.
After the two events, Team Alaska is in second place with 556 points. Team New England has a healthy lead with 898 points.
