Autism to be discussed

Doctor Susan Hepburn will give a free presentation on autism from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. It is open to the public. For more information, call The Alaska Autism Resource Center at 866-301-7372.

Caregiver meetings offered

The National Family Caregiver Support Program will hold the following meetings:

* Kenai From 1 to 3 p.m. Monday a presentation on "Dementia: Communicating and Relating" will be held at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Julie Beatty of Alzheimer's Resource Agency of Alaska will be the featured speaker.

* Soldotna From to 1 to 3 p.m. March 25 a caregiver support meeting will be held at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center.

Fundraiser set to aid accident victim

A fundraiser with dinner and an auction for Cody Honrud will be held at 5:30 p.m. March 22 at the Soldotna Sports Center. The event will help defer medical expenses for Honrud, a 2005 Soldotna High School graduate, who was injured in a snowmachine accident in the Caribou Hills on Feb. 24. Honrud was medevaced to Providence Hospital in Anchorage, where he underwent several surgeries. On Feb. 28, he was medevaced to Seattle Harborview Trauma Center and is in critical condition.

A tax-deductible account has been established at Wells Fargo Bank through the Bridges Network and another account opened at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union.

T-200 meeting slated

The Tustumena Sled Dog Race Association will meet at 7 p.m. March 27 at The Riverside House in Soldotna. Nominations for officers, three board members and a musher representative are on the agenda.
