FAIRBANKS (AP) -- Police are looking for a University of Alaska Fairbanks student who is accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated female student in his campus dorm.

University police said they believe Joseph B. Heard has left Alaska because of charges filed last week. Heard is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault in connection with the March 4 incident.

University police said the woman was sexually assaulted while she was too incapacitated to make a rational decision.

A $25,000 warrant for Heard's arrest has been issued. UAF Sgt. Syrilyn Tong said Heard was a former Fort Wainwright soldier and had told people he was trying to get enough money to leave Alaska.

Tong said university officials told Heard to move out of his dorm room by Friday, March 9, because of the investigation. He has not been seen since then.
