Stars snap skid vs. Caps

WASHINGTON -- Sergei Zubov had a goal and two assists as the Dallas Stars snapped a two-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals.

Both Dallas and Washington are fighting for the final playoff spot in the Western and Eastern Conference, respectively.

Islanders 3, Sabres 0

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Chris Osgood made 28 saves for his fourth shutout in Michael Peca's return to Buffalo, as New York defeated the Sabres.

Kip Miller, Dave Scatchard and Jason Blake scored for New York.

Flyers 1, Maple Leafs 1

TORONTO -- Gary Roberts scored with 2:05 remaining in the third period and Corey Schwab made 22 saves as Toronto tied Philadelphia.

John LeClair scored for the Flyers, who held a team meeting on Monday after losing to Toronto on Sunday.

Canucks 5, Predators 0

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Todd Bertuzzi had two goals and two assists and Brendan Morrison added a goal and two assists as Vancouver shut down Nashville.

Senators 4, Wild 3, OT

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Magnus Arvedson's goal 1:41 into overtime lifted Ottawa to a victory over Minnesota.

Pascal Dupuis' rebound goal 2:26 into the third period tied the game for the Wild, who entered play with a three-game winning streak.

Coyotes 3, Blackhawks 1

PHOENIX -- Daniel Briere scored his team-leading 27th goal and Robert Esche made 38 saves as Phoenix edged Chicago for its fifth straight win.

Brad May also scored and Michal Handzus added an empty-net goal for the Coyotes.

Lightning 4, Thrashers 4

ATLANTA -- Dan Boyle scored with 11:55 left in regulation and Tampa Bay rallied from a three-goal deficit to tie Atlanta.

Martin Cibak, Dave Andreychuk and Ben Clymer also had goals for the Lightning, who scored twice in the third period and avoided their third loss in four games.
