Indian education parent meeting set

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Federal Programs Department has scheduled a Title VII, Indian Education Parent Advisory Committee meeting from 9:30 a.m. to noon today at the Aspen Hotel in Soldotna. Those planning to attend should call Rochelle Hanson at 714-8892, ext. 8866.

Bike raffle continues

The Soldotna Rotary Club is selling raffle tickets for a bike, or bikes, up to a value of $1,500 from Beemun’s Variety Store in Soldotna. Proceeds will benefit the Kenai Peninsula College digital photography class. The drawing will be held today. Tickets are available at Sweeney’s and from Soldotna Rotarians.

Berry growers gather

Alaska Berry Growers will hold an informational meeting at 3 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association building on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Michelle Hoffman will discuss the opportunity of U.S. Department of Agriculture funding for wild berry growers and updates on available of blueberry plants. Spaghetti dinner fundraiser set

The Kenai Central High and Kenai Middle school bands will host at spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:50 p.m. today at the KCHS cafeteria. Both bands will give performances throughout dinner. Biathlon club to meet

South Pole to be discussed

Steven Theno, engineer at Amundsen Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica, will give a presentation at 7:30 p.m. today in the commons at Kenai Peninsula College.

Drivers safety class Saturday

The American Association of Retired Persons will hold a driver safety program from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Soldotna Elks Lodge No. 2706 at 44640 Parkway Ave. in Soldotna. For more information, call Jim Bennett at 260-4904.

Nuggets on moose offered

The Kenai River Center’s winter speaker series will wrap up with a discussion on a study of moose movements at 7 p.m. today at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road. Shady things afoot

Central Peninsula Master Gardeners will host Teena Garay from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture building on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Her topic will be shade gardens.
