Fundraiser for wind foundation coming

A wine tasting and silent auction to support the AKWI Foundation will take place Thursday, April 7, from 6-- 8 p.m., at the Kenai Visitor Center. Tickets are $25.00 before April 1 and $30 at the door. Wines that will be showcased are Tedeschi Maui Winery, Substance Winery and Champagne Lallier. Spring break movies at KVCC

Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center hosts movie afternoons on March 16, 17 and 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday's theme is kid's movies, Thursday's is Alaska, and Friday is short films. All afternoon films are appropirate for any age. At 7 p.m. on Friday night, the center will have "The Best of BOBS Shorts," which are suggested for a mature audience. Bed and breakfast group meets

The Kenai Peninsula Bed and Breakfast Association meets at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center, March 19, 11 a.m. Monte Davis of The Alaska Travel Industry Association will speak on the history of the association, the vision and how KPBBA is benefitting for affiliation. Members are asked to bring snack type food and prospective members or interested others are welcome.

Ladies night out

Take-a-Break is hosting a Ladies Night Out for teens to 90- year-olds on Tuesday, April 5, 7 -- 8:30 p.m., at Solid Rock Conference Center. Dessert will be served for $7 per person. A special feature, "How does your Garden Grow," will be presented by Janice Chumley, of the Cooperative Extension Service. Guest speaker will be Jan Mathers, Stonecroft Ministries trainer/speaker from Bend, Ore. With a sense of humor and audience interaction she will relate how to "Become an Invincible Woman!" Electric storage technology workshop

Learn square-round dancing this month

Would you like to learn to square dance or round dance (waltz or twos-step)? Hospital book fair for scholarships

The Central Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary Book Fair takes place Monday, March 28, 9 a.m. -- 6 p.m.; and Tuesday, March 29, 9 a.m. -- 4 p.m. Come to the Denali Room at CPH to peruse books and gifts galore! All proceeds from the book fair go to the Auxiliary Scholarship Fund to support our local students.

Rugby group invites new players

The Kenai River Wolfpack Rugby Club is recruiting new members for the upcoming season. We are soliciting interested players of all ages and abilities to come play. We are currently practicing touch rugby on Tuesday evenings from 7 -- 9 p.m. at Soldotna Middle School. The only required gear is a pair of non-marking athletic shoes.
