Notes: Posted awards are $3,405,766. ... Darlington was built in 1950 for maximum speeds of about 75 mph. Qualifying speeds Friday should be around the 170 mph mark.... The speedway is egg-shaped, and the exit to the second turn is one of the toughest on the circuit because the outside wall jets into the racing groove about 2 feet. Cars will bounce off the wall and earn their ''Darlington stripe'' during the race.
