Caregiver workshop set

The National Family Caregiver Support Program Alaska will hold a wheelchair training meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the community hall in Cooper Landing. For more information, call 262-1280.

Band concert planned

The Skyview High School band will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the commons of the school.

Hospice to hold fund-raiser

Hospice of Homer will hold a dinner and auction fund-raiser at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Homestead Restaurant in Homer. Dinner, wine, live music and a silent auction are some of the planned activities. The cost is $60 per person. Tickets are available at the Grogg Shop, Homer Bookstore, Art Shop Gallery, the hospice office and from hospice board members. For more information, call (907) 235-6899.

Spring bazaar set

The Nikiski Senior Citizens Center will hold its annual spring bazaar and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 31 through April 2. Tables are available for rent. For more information, call 776-7654.

Applications for visitor services available

The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge has applications for conducting commercial visitor services on the refuge available.

A special-use permit is required for conducting any commercial visitor services on refuge lands and waters, including portions of the Kenai River with in refuge boundaries. There are limited numbers of permits available that are awarded by competitive selection.

Applications will be accepted in person at refuge headquarters or that are sent in and postmarked no later than April 1. The permit year runs May 1 through April 30, 2006. Running club forming

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula is forming a coed running club for children in grades third through fifth. It will be a combined running and education program.

It will run April 18 through June 11 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The cost is $30, and the registration deadline is April 1. Participants must be current members. Registration fees are available at For more information, call 283-2682.
