Women voters to meet
The Kenai Peninsula League of Women Voters will meet at noon today at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. The speaker will be Todd Marshall-Closson, president of the Student Union of the Kenai Peninsula College. He will discuss perspectives of students in politics. The public is invited to attend. Teen dance Friday
The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula will host a dance for seventh- and eighth-graders from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. today at the Teen Center. The cost is $5 for non-members, $4 for members and $3 for new members who bring in a filled out registration form and $20. The membership fee is for the remainder of 2008. AARP drivers safety classes slated
AARP will hold a drivers safety class from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Denali room at Central Peninsula Hospital. The cost is $10 for participant materials. The class is open to the public.

Autism to be discussed

Cancer fundraiser a cut above
Volunteers for the cancer fundraiser St. Baldricks will have their haircut at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Soldotna Sports Center. To register log on to www.stbaldricks.org. For more information, call Ben Simonds at 262-4792.
St. Baldrick's is a volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family.
Community dance set
The Kenai River Folk Dancers will hold a community dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Kalifornsky Beach Elementary School on Poppy Lane. The ContraBanD will play and Hatton Greer will call the dances. Participants are asked to bring clean non-marking shoes. The cost of admission is $5. Children under 16 years old are admitted free with an adult.

LeeShore plans fundraiser
The LeeShore Center board of directors will host its annual spring gala dinner at 6 p.m. March 29 at the Kenai Merit Inn. Dinner will be catered by Charlotte's. Wine will be served with dinner. Live music will be by Bull Don and the Moose Nuggets. The cost of admission is $49 per person.
