Edward V. 'Ed' Segura

Kenai resident Edward V. "Ed" Segura died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. He was 76.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, March 14, at Tyotkas Elders Center at 1100 Mission Avenue in Kenai. Mr. Segura's brother, Rick Segura, will officiate.

Mr. Segura was born on Nov. 18, 1933, in Kenai to Victor A. and Madrona Darien Segura. He graduated from high school in Kenai, attended college for two years and spent one year at the police academy in Bakersfield, Calif.

Mr. Segura married Elizabeth Ann Segura on Jan. 12, 1981, in Bakersfield. He sold cars, appliances, furniture and real estate in California, Oklahoma, and Alaska.

"Ed loved to hunt, fish, loved to bowl in his younger years, play guitar with his brothers and sisters, loved to go dancing when he was younger," his family said. "He will be missed more then words can say."

Mr. Segura was preceded by his parents; brother Victor A Segura; and daughter Cynthia Bolles.

He is survived by his wife; sons Bill Moody and Bobby Segura; daughter Debbie Segura; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses Gert Frostad, Rita Smagge, Clara and Van Swan, Jim and Carol Segura, Bill Segura, David and Sandy Segura, Rick and Patty Segura; sister-in-law Peggy Segura; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at First National Bank to the Edward V. Segura account.
