Disabled American Veterans set to meet today

The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 will meet today at 6 p.m. at the Alaska National Guard Armory in Kenai. All veterans are welcome.

Builders to have dinner meeting

The Kenai Peninsula Builders Association will be holding its monthly membership meeting today at 6:30 p.m. at Paradisos restaurant in Kenai. The guest speaker will be Bob Lambe, a CPA from Lambe, Tuter, Wagner and Moore. All members are encouraged to attend.

Peninsula Sled Dog Association to meet today

The Peninsula Sled Dog and Racing Association is slated to meet today at 7 p.m. at Bridges to recap this season and start preparing for next year. Nominations for officers and plans for a banquet are on the agenda. Anyone interested in mushing and skijoring is welcome to attend. For more information, call 262-7293.

Central Emergency board meeting today

The monthly board meeting for the Central Emergency Services Service Area Board of Directors is scheduled for today at 7 p.m. at Station 1. The public is welcome to attend.

Advisory board to meet

The Kenai River Special Management Area Advisory Board will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Kenai River Center at 514 Funny River Road in Soldotna.

Agenda topics will include the evaluation of light penetrating walkways, volunteer water quality monitoring project, recreation impact study, committee status report and updates on the River Terrace laundromat contamination cleanup, plus other general updates of commercial operations and pending permits.

VFW plans St. Patrick's Day dinner-dance

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10046 in Soldotna will have a St. Patrick's Day dinner and dance Saturday to honor its Korean War veterans. This is free to members and one guest. Providing music will be the Alaska Swing Co., not Bubba Sue, as was previously announced. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. The dance will be from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Those planning to attend should stop by the post at 134 Birch St. to sign up in order for the post to know how many to cook for. For more information, call 262-2722.
