Anchorage visitors should be wary of peninsula gas prices

Posted: Tuesday, March 15, 2005

I am writing this letter to warn our loyal visitors from Anchorage and elsewhere who are planning to visit the Kenai Peninsula.

We are experiencing far higher gasoline price differences than we have ever seen before between Anchorage and here and, for most of us, we are embarrassed to see what they are charging on the peninsula for this commodity. We don't want you to get nailed, as we are daily, by this horrid gouging that is going on, so please prepare yourself (gas-wise) before you make your trip down here. Please know that many of us in our communities are very upset about this issue. We know why this is happening and we are trying to get this issue resolved. Until we can resolve this, again beware of the huge difference in gas prices here and prepare yourself before you come down here.

May God help us.
