The people of the Kenai Peninsula surely must be inundated with notes of thanks from around the polar world for the spectacular job you did last week. We felt so sincerely welcomed wherever we went.
When I took the skating team for a long walk the first day in town the kids started counting the number of people who waved greetings from their vehicles. Then the numbers grew and they stopped that and started counting the numbers that stopped their vehicles to offer greetings. They thought that was pretty hospitable. But training the moose to participate, now that’s over-the-top hospitality.
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful week. About 2,000 happy kids must have made you all very proud to represent the Kenai.
