HonorBound director to speak at SolFirst

Chuck Brewster will be the guest speaker at Soldotna First Assembly of God on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. He is the national director of HonorBound men's ministries.

As director, Brewster oversees all operations of the ministry, budget, personnel, vision and direction. He comes to HonorBound after 28 years in law enforcement, 23 of which were with the Secret Service during the Carter, Reagan, Bush and Clinton administrations. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Brewster was the featured speaker at last year's God and Country Rally and has agreed to return as speaker this year.

SolFirst is behind The Salvation Army thrift store on the Kenai Spur Highway, two blocks from the Soldotna "Y."

Boardwalk available to students

Teens looking for a place to go for free fun Saturday can go to the Boardwalk at First Baptist Church in Soldotna. There will be music, food and activities including pool, ping pong and foosball.

Boardwalk will be open following each home Soldotna and Skyview high school basketball game and ending at midnight.

"We want to provide an environment where students can have fun with no regrets that night, or the next day," said pastor Jonathan Pedersen.

"We'll probably be making another one of our famous 30-gallon milkshakes using a trash can and trolling motor later in the season," he said. "We also do Soldotna's biggest banana split, so you never know what to expect."

The Boardwalk is located in the multi-story house on the church property at 109 Little Ave. For more information, call 262-4304 or 262-4652.
