There will be a dance performance at 4 p.m. today.

Patti Berkhahn, a biologist for Alaska Fish and Game, dissected salmon with Mr. Knudsen and Mrs. Heath's third-graders. This is one of several Fish and Game Salmon Incubation Program activities the students are participating in.

All Mountain View third-graders studied the Iditarod last week. The students get to move from checkpoint to checkpoint for their at-home reading. The students are trying to get to Nome before the mushers. They will have Idita-read parties Friday in celebration of finishing their at home reading.

Third-graders had a week of cultural experiences with the Kenaitze Indian Tribe's Yaghanen program. Students made agate pouches, learned about the Dena'ina culture, had the furs and tracks presentation of Alaskan animals as well as the moose presentation. On Friday, students observed the Native Youth Olympics and participated in the the song and dances of the tribe.
