Kenai resident, Jared Dale Hein died unexpectedly, Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at the Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. He was 26.
A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 6 p.m. at Our Lady Of the Angels Catholic Church in Kenai. Sister Joyce will be officiating. A gathering with refreshments will immediately follow the services. His remains will be scattered in Peterson Bay near Seldovia at a later date.
Mr. Hein was born Oct. 3, 1981 in Ketchikan. He moved to Brookings, Ore., where he resided until moving to Kenai in October of 2001. Mr. Hein loved to be outside. He enjoyed fishing, camping, four-wheeling, hiking, snowmachining, playing pool, cards and trucks. Mr. Hein also enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.
His family wrote, "Jared touched so many people lives when he was here with us, but now we have another angel on our shoulders. Jared will be deeply missed by all lives he has touched. He loved being around his children, all of his family members and friends."
He is survived by his mother, Eva Hein of Oregon; father, Roy Morrison of Nikiski; sister, Marisa Chaney; brother, Pattrick Sumner; sons, Sequoia McCall of Oregon and Jessiah James of Fairbanks; daughter, Makayla Hein of Kenai; uncle, Darrel Hein; aunts, Marie Tribebrent of Montana, Sylvia, Lisa, Debbie, and Helen; adopted parent, Art Rogers of Brooking, Ore.; step-parents, Chris and Holly Smidt of Nikiski; brother, George Wellenbrock of Oregon; mother of his child, Danyale Watson of Soldotna; grandmother, and by so many people he had touched.
