Little League Clinics switch nights

Kenai Little League Clinics have been moved to Tuesday nights at Kenai Middle School for the month of March. There will be no clinic today. Clinics are open to youth ages 6 and up. For more information, e-mail info@kenailittleleague.org.

Pool schedules announced

Area pools hours are:

* Kenai Central High School -- 6:30 to 8 a.m. morning lap swim -- Monday through Friday; 9 to 11 a.m. physical therapy -- Mondays; 3 to 5 p.m. Piranaha Swim Team -- Monday through Thursday; 5 to 6 p.m. swim lessons -- Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. water aerobics -- Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 6 to 7 p.m. evening lap swim -- Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The cost is $4 Lap swim or Open swim, $35 for a punch card/ 10 punches on the card.

* Skyview High School -- Spring Break Schedule March 15- 19 -- A.m. Lap swim from 6 to 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday; Am Lap swim and water aerobics 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday; Open Swim 3:30-5:30 Monday through Friday; Water Aerobics 5:30-6:30 Monday, Wednesday, Friday; P.M. Lap swim 6:30-7:30 Monday, Wednesday, Friday; and organized Lap Swim Workout 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Spring Break Private Swim lessons - Private swim lessons 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. $15 for 30 min lesson or $20 for Semi private lesson. Starting March 30 it will have a new set of swimming lessons.

* Soldotna High School -- Morning lap swim, 6 to 8 a.m., Monday through Friday; evening lap swim, 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday; open swim, 7 to 8:45 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Call 262-7419 for more information.

* Nikiski pool Spring Break Hours continue through March 21 are Tuesday through Thursday -- Open Swim and Lap Swim from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 6 to 9 p.m. with waterslide starting at 1 p.m.; Fridays hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and and 6 to 9 p.m. for Open swim, Lap Swim and Waterslide; Saturday and Sunday hours are Open Swim, Lap Swim and Water Slide from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.

There is space available for semi-private lessons starting March 30 through April 9.

CGC class slated

The American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) award is to recognize dogs who have good manners at home and in public. A class to prepare dogs to test for this award begins March 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Dog Obedience Group (PenDOG) facility on K-Beach Road. The class will continue for 7 weeks.

Day camp planned

North Peninsula Recreation is offering its spring day camp today through 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center.

Boys and Girls first through sixth grade can join in arts and crafts projects, gym activities and more. For more information, Tammy at 776-8800.

Seattle getaway fundraiser begins

The Rotary Club - Kenai River Soldotna is offering a chance to win a Seattle getaway that includes two round-trip airline tickets from Anchorage to Seattle - winner can choose the dates between May and September. Getaway includes two tickets to a Mariners baseball game - reserved seats, two rounds of golf at the Tacoma Country Club, three nights lodging in the home of a Rotarian and more.

Tickets are $25 per chance and can be purchased from any Kenai River Rotarian. Proceeds will be split between Rotary International's goal to eradicate Polio worldwide and other Kenai River projects.
