Little League clinic schedule change
Clinics for Kenai Little League are cancelled for spring break, but will resume March 21, and 23, with the following schedule change: Every Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. for ages 4 to 6; and every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. for ages 7 to 18. Bazaar, bake sale and plane tickets
The Nikiski Senior Center's Spring Bazaar and Bake Sale will be held on April 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. -- 4 p.m. each day. Table rentals are $15/day or $20 for both days, per table. Call 776-7654 to sign up. The center is also selling raffle tickets for two Alaska Airline tickets, up to 40,000 air miles per ticket. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. College scholarship available
The women of Chapter M, Philanthropic Educational Opportunities are offering a $1,500 scholarship for the school year 2011-12. Any woman who has completed at least one semester of college and is planning to enroll or has enrolled at Kenai Peninsula College, Soldotna Campus, is eligible to apply. Applications can be obtained at the KPC Student Finance Office and are duey May 10. Applicants will be notified of the recipient by June 1. Purple Heart members meet
The monthly meeting of the Military Order of the Purple Heart will be 1 p.m. March 17 at the VFW post in Soldotna. Any combat wounded veteran is welcome to attend and become a member. Spring break movies at KVCC
Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center hosts movie afternoons this week. Wednesday's theme is kid's movies, Thursday's is Alaska, and Friday is short films. All afternoon films are from 1 to 4 p.m. and appropriate for any age. For more information call 283-1991 or visit www.artskenai.com
Vendors wanted for Soldotna Market
The Wednesday Soldotna Creek Market is back! The market will run for 11 consecutive Wednesdays, June 1 through Aug. 10. Vendor spaces will cost from $15-$30 per Wednesday. Vendor spaces must be reserved in advance. Call Rae at 262-2729 for more information and to reserve a space.
Time to be Irish in Soldotna
Soldotna Senior Center is holding its Endowment Trust Fund St. Patrick's Day community celebration dinner on March 17 at 5:30 p.m. A traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner with all the trimmings will be served. Tickets are $25 for adults, $12.50 for seniors and children 10 years and younger. Tickets can be purchased at Soldotna Senior Center, Sweeney's Clothing and the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce.
