ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A moderate earthquake rattled the Aleutian Island village of Atka last Saturday night.
The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.5. It was located about 60 miles southeast of Atka and about 145 miles southeast of Adak.
The warning center said the earthquake was about 25 miles deep. It struck at 6:58 p.m. Saturday.
