Academic excellence honored

On March 12, Kenai Central High School held its ninth academic awards banquet for 153 students who earned a 3.5 or above GPA during the fall semester. Full-time students at KCHS are eligible for an academic letter if they have two consecutive semesters of 3.5 or above GPAs.

We would like to thank Kenai Middle School teacher Dan Verkuilen for his motivating talk on being prepared and meeting challenges. We appreciate McDonald's of Kenai's for financial support and for generously supplying coupons for each of the students.

Many people are involved in the program to make it a success. Thanks also goes to: Berry Swenson, Hank Overturf, Pam Lazenby, Lynn Janson, Mark Manuel, Connie Jung, Christine Bergholtz, Jim Davis, Tim Delaney, Susie Franklin, Liana Bigham, Deb Sounart, KCHS Jazz Band, National Honor Society and the technical crew at KCHS.
