School hosts open house

Grace Lutheran School will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the school on Ciechanski Road. It is open to the public. Refreshments and craft activities will be available for children while parents talk to teachers and tour the facility. For more information, call 283-9551.

Community dance planned

The Kenai River Folk Dancers will host a smoke- and alcohol-free community contra dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Kalifornsky Beach Elementary School. Live music will be provided by the Contra Band. Beginners should come early, as the easiest dances start at 7 p.m. Participants should bring clean, nonmarking shoes and potluck snacks to share. Partners are not required. Admission is $5. Children under 16 can get in for free if accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 260-4171.

Youth court called to order

The Kenai Peninsula Youth Court will hold free classes for middle and high school students interested in becoming student attorneys in the Youth Court program. Classes for the Central Peninsula will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays through May 15 at the Old Kenai Courthouse at 145 Main St. Loop next to the Kenai Public Library. Pancake breakfast fundraiser set to flip

The Sterling Senior Center will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 9 to 11: 30 a.m. March 25 at the center. It is open to the public. The price of admission is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Drawing for prizes also will be held.

Girls conference slated

Soroptimist International of the Kenai Peninsula will hold its second annual Young Women’s Teen Event from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 25 at the Solid Rock Bible Camp. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The conference celebrates young women and introduces opportunities available to them. Laura Dagon, director of Laura Model and Talent Agency in Anchorage will be the featured speaker. Lunch, attendance prizes and a grand prize are included.
