Communicating with those with hearing loss is focus of programs in Nikiski, Soldotna

The National Family Caregiver Support Program will hold meetings Wednesday and Thursday in the central Kenai Peninsula area. At each, there will be a presentation on how to communicate with someone who has hearing loss. The training will be accompanied by guest speaker Lowell Derrington of the Hearing Aid Institute. Derrington also will provide free hearing screening.

Primary caregivers and the community are welcome to attend.

One program will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. Another will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center.
