Church production slated

Performances of the production "Heaven's Gates, Hell's Flames" will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday at the Lighthouse Community Church at Mile 25 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski.

The production is being sponsored by Lighthouse Community Church, as well as First Baptist Church of Port Nikiski, Inlet Faith, North Kenai Chapel, New Hope Fellowship, North Star Methodist and Mount Redoubt Baptist churches. Donations are welcome.

Day camp offered

Grace Lutheran Church and School will host a spring break day camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church on Ciechanski Road, one block off of Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Children age 3 through the sixth grade are eligible to attend. Scheduled events include the story of Easter, crafts, singing and games. Also kindergarten through sixth grade will go to the roller skating rink in Soldotna in the afternoon, while preschool children remain for activities. Lunch will be provided. There is no charge. Easter activities, services set

North Star United Methodist Church in Nikiski Easter services will be as follows: Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Thursday and Tenebrae service with Communion; Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 25; Easter Sunrise service at Jess Lobdell's house March 27 (call for time); potluck breakfast following service at North Star UMC in fellowship hall.

Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ will observe a three-day purification fast beginning Thursday. The fast will be broken with a "Sonrise" service at 7 a.m. March 27 followed by children's Sunday school at 10:30 a.m. with music, treats and a play. The evening service will begin at 5:30 and feature a resurrection cantata by the adult choir. St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church Easter services will be as follows: Maundy Thursday Communion service at 7 p.m. Thursday for the Family Church of God; Tenebrae service with Communion at 7 p.m. March 25; Easter vigil at 8 p.m. March 26 with the Rev. Katherine Hunt officiating; Holy Eucharist at 10:30 a.m. March 27 with the Rev. Katherine Hunt officiating; and an Easter egg hunt for families of St. Francis and the Family Church of God at noon, followed by a joint potluck Easter brunch.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church will lead a Good Friday walk through Soldotna March 25. The walk will begin at noon at O'Neill Hall on Redoubt Avenue and will take about two hours to complete.

The group will carry a large timber cross, walk a two-mile route, stop at 14 stations for reflection on the final journey of Christ. It is open to the public. For more information call Janet Shapley at 262-7313.

An Easter resurrection celebration featuring the art of Dr. David Bishop accompanied by a church community mass choir at 7 p.m. March 25 and 26 and at 4 p.m. March 27 at Soldotna High School Auditorium. For more information, call 262-4729 or 262-6442.
