Longtime Soldotna resident Rosemary Kime died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at her home. She was 75.
At her request, her ashes will be scattered in the woods behind her home after spring breakup. A memorial will be held for her at that time. Please contact Sue Sanders at 262-4105 for more information.
Mrs. Kime was born March 31, 1933 in Grant, Neb. The family then moved to just outside of Medford, Ore. In 1950, she married Richard Ralston Kime, and they had three children, Richard F. Kime, Suzanne Sanders and David Kime.
She worked as a housekeeper for the Boydens in Medford and then managed and remodeled rentals for them. She then worked for Harry and David's in Medford.
In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Kime moved to Alaska. They worked in Tyonek until moving to Soldotna in 1985.
"Rosemary was very spiritual and raised her children to be open-minded and value the gifts of nature. She had quite the sense of humor, loved reading, surfing and chatting with friends on the Internet, playing card games with family and friends, fishing and exploring the woods," her family said.
Mrs. Kime was preceded in death by her sons, Richard F. and David Kime; and a granddaughter, Sonja Kime.
She is survived by her husband, Richard R. Kime, daughter, Sue Sander, and granddaughter, Chelsea Kime, all of Soldotna; granddaughter, Tanya Garrett of Wasilla; grandsons, Isaac Walker of Coos Bay, Ore., Benjamin and Kenny Kime of Bend, Ore., and Jeremy Bray of Higbee, Mo.; and great-grandchildren, Shayla and Cale Garrett of Wasilla.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel of Kenai.
