Spring break day camp slated

Grace Lutheran Church and School will host a spring break day camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday for children 3 years old through grade six. Early drop off at 8 a.m. is OK. Activities will include the meaning of Lent, crafts, games and singing. The church is one block off Kalifornsky Beach Road on Ciechanski Road.

A hot dog lunch will be provided, and children are invited to go swimming at the Nikiski pool in the afternoon (for cost). Prekindergarten and kindergarten children must be accompanied by a parent to swim.

Public comment sought on water issues

Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor David Carey will hold a mayor's advisory group discussion on the waters in the borough, including rivers, streams and saltwater from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Bear Creek Fire Station.

Postal service host lobby event

The U.S.Postal Service will host a lobby event from noon to 3 p.m. Monday in its Soldotna Post Office. Employees will be available to answer to questions and provide information on, Click and Ship, direct mail and express mail corporate accounts. For more information, call Hector Rivera at 262-4760.

Car seat check up offered

Safe Kids Kenai Peninsula and Central Peninsula Hospital will hold car seat check-ups from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the Central Emergency Services Soldotna fire station across from Safeway. For more information, call 714-4539.

Caregiver support meetings offered

The National Family Caregiver Support Program will hold a peer support meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. March 31 at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center.

LeeShore fundraiser dinner set to dish

A gala dinner hosted by Charlotte's Catering, dancing to music by Bull Don and The Moose Nuggets and silent auction will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. April 4 at the Kenai Merit Inn. Girls' night out planned

Skin care, makeup and influential women will be the subjects of discussion at the Peninsula Take-a-Break girls' night out beginning at 6:30 p.m. April 21 at Solid Rock Bible Camp, Mile 90.5 of the Sterling Highway. Reservations for the evening and for nursery care are required by April 19.

A light dinner and dessert will be served. The cost is $10. A free nursery is provided.
