Oilers sign Rice southpaw

The Oilers have signed 6-foot-1 left-handed pitcher Matt Drosjack. Drosjack, from Rice University, joins teammate John Kaye with the 2000 Oilers. The 2000 Owls starting rotation lists former Oilers Jeff Nichols, Kenny Baugh, Marc Gwyn and Jon Skaggs. Drosjack is a sophomore majoring in electrical engineering and makes his home in The Woodlands, Texas.

West Virginia University third baseman Tim McCabe (Oilers 2000) is hitting .320 in the Mountaineers' first 15 games of the college season. The 6-3, 190-pound freshman from Wexford, Pa., is majoring in business.
