Peer counselors to lead mothers group

The Kenai WIC office in the Seaman Building in Kenai will host a Mothers Group today at 3 p.m. This group is for pregnant mothers who would like to meet other mothers in the community and discuss parenting issues. The group has a strong breast-feeding emphasis. For more information, call 283-4707.

Computer classes offered.

People Count Inc. will offer an Excel class from noon to 3 p.m. today through Thursday at the PCI Skills Resource Center in Kenai. For more information and to register, call 283-4099.

CPGH Board to meet

The Central Kenai Peninsula General Hospital Service Area Board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. today in the Iliamna room at the hospital. For more information, call 262-9892 or 283-9047.

Alliance to hold meeting

The Kenai Chapter of the Alliance will meet at noon Tuesday at Paradisos Restaurant in Kenai. Scott Huggins, sales and promotion manager with Tesoro Alaska Company, will speak about clean fuels and the environment.

KDLL board to meet

KDLL will hold its monthly board meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the KDLL studio in the Economic Development District building. The meeting is open to the public.

Church to hold sale

The New Life Christian Fellowship of Kasilof will hold a garage sale at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Mile 7.5 of Kalifornsky Beach Road. Rental space is available and donations are appreciated. For more information, call 262-3233 or 262-5537.

Kids sought for new Marines unit

The Arctic Young Marines will hold a sign-up for boys and girls ages 8 to 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion bingo hall in Kenai. Boot camp will start March 31.

Tickets on sale for memory quilt

Hospice of the Central Peninsula is selling tickets for a 5-by-6-foot memory quilt. The quilt was made by many different quilters in memory of loved ones lost.

Hospice volunteers will sell the tickets, and the raffle will take place April 22 at the Kenai Peninsula Builders Home Show at the Soldotna Sports Center. Tickets are $1 or a booklet of six for $5.
