Kyle Frederick Braun died in his mother's arms Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. Kyle died at 7:09 a.m., the same hour, minute and place where he was born just 47 days earlier.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kenai New Life Assembly of God Church, across from Kenai Central High School. Pastor Steve Brown will officiate.
Kyle was born on Jan. 30, 2002, in Soldotna. He spent the first five weeks of his life at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, where he was diagnosed with Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome.
"Although everything possible was done, he had a condition which was irreversible," his family wrote.
"Kyle was in this world just a short time, yet long enough to find his way into the hearts of many people. Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same."
Kyle is survived by his parents, Greg and Georgina Braun; grandparents, Fred Braun, Robert and Pauline Dukowitz and Pete and Linda Piccini; aunts and uncles, Eric and Meri Braun, Jeff Braun, David Braun, Maggie Braun, Tammy Dukowitz, Robert and Lisa Dukowitz, Rodney and Heather Dukowitz, and Keith and Angela Smallwood; cousins Rick and Shelly McGahan; and many other special cousins and family members.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
