Relay for Life meeting set
The first Relay for Life team captain meeting will be 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Illiamna Room at Central Peninsula General Hospital. Captains can pick up their registration packets for the June 2 and 3 Relay for Life at Skyview High School. Packets also are available from Penny at Stewart Title in Soldotna and by calling 260-8031 or 283-9650.
SoHi girls softball winding up
An organizational meeting of the Soldotna High School girls softball team will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at SoHi in Mr. Nolden’s room.
This meeting will provide information regarding practices, season schedule and other information. Parents are requested to attend this informational meeting along with students interested in participating in this sport. For more information, call David Cleveland at 262-1288.
Berry growers set to sprout
Alaska Berry Growers will hold a meeting to discuss growing and harvesting wild Alaska berries at 1 p.m. Monday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building. All potential berry growers are encouraged to attend. For more information, call Jack Brown at 283-3700.
Performance, auction to benefit boy
Drop of a Hat Performers will hold a fundraiser performance and auction to benefit 10-year-old Gabriel Boyle of Kenai, who is being treated for leukemia at Children’s Hospital in Seattle, at 6 p.m. March 31 at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Actors will perform skits and there will be an outcry dessert auction and a silent auction. Admission is $5 at the door.
Donations of goods and services for the silent auction are being accepted. Donations of gum, comic books, get-well cards and similar items aslo are being accepted for weekly care packages for Gabe. Donations can be dropped off at Nikiski Middle-High School, Sears Elementary and Mountain View Elementary.
