1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 (16-ounce) box confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons milk
Combine the butter, vanilla and salt in large mixing bowl. With an electric mixer, on medium speed, beat butter until light.
With mixer on low speed, add confectioners' sugar, 1/2 cup at a time. Mix in milk. Increase speed to medium and beat mixture until it is light and fluffy, about 5 minutes; scrape down the sides of the bowl once or twice as needed.
Makes enough frosting to frost 24 cupcakes.
