FAIRBANKS (AP) -- State parks officials are looking for people interested in managing three campgrounds and recreations sites in the Fairbanks area.
The Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation began advertising this week for private managers for the Chena River State Recreation Site, the Upper Chatanika State Recreation area, and the Lower Chatanika State Recreation Area.
Managers can collect the profits from camping and recreation fees charged to users of the areas. They can also profit from commercial enterprises, such as renting boats or selling camping and recreation equipment.
Contracts for each of the three recreation sites would cover the next two years and include an option to renew.
Bids for the Chena River site are due by 5 p.m. April 1, and bids for the Lower and Upper Chatanika areas are due by 5 p.m. April 2.
