NEW YORK -- Mike Dunham made 27 saves for his second straight shutout, and Eric Lindros had two assists to lead the New York Rangers to a 3-0 victory Wednesday night over the Buffalo Sabres.
Dunham, who beat the New York Islanders 1-0 on Monday, has five shutouts this season and 16 in his career. The last time the Rangers posted back-to-back shutouts was Oct. 27 and Oct. 30, 1998.
The Rangers, who were 0-2-1 this season against the last-place Sabres, moved within four points of the Islanders in the race for the eighth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Anson Carter scored his first with the Rangers, and Tom Poti and Bobby Holik added goals.
Wild 3, Panthers 1
SUNRISE, Fla. -- Pascal Dupuis had a goal and an assist as Minnesota extended Florida's franchise-record home winless streak to 11.
Antti Laaksonen and Sergei Zholtok scored first-period goals for the Wild, which snapped a two-game winless streak.
Viktor Kozlov had the only goal for Florida, 0-8-2-1 during its home slide.
Stars 5, Thrashers 4, OT
ATLANTA -- Mike Modano's goal off a faceoff 2:24 into overtime lifted Dallas past Atlanta.
Dany Heatley's goal with 35 seconds left in regulation forced overtime as the Thrashers overcame a three-goal third period by Dallas. But Modano deflected a pass from Phillipe Boucher to give the Stars' their sixth 40-win season in seven years.
Mighty Ducks 4, Blackhawks 3
CHICAGO -- Samuel Pahlsson snapped a tie with 3:33 left in the third period as Anaheim beat Chicago.
Petr Sykora had a goal and assist for Anaheim, which tied franchise records for victories (36) and points in a season (85). Stanislav Chistov and Paul Kariya also scored for the Mighty Ducks. Kariya's goal was his 300th in the NHL.
