Last two mushers reach Nome

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The Iditarod is officially over.

The last two mushers on the trail--Dave Tresino of Talkeetna and Fedor Konyukov of Moscow--reached Nome Monday afternoon.

Tresino passed under the burled arch at 3:30 p.m. and Konyukov finished at 3:44 p.m., claiming the Red Lantern awarded to the last place finisher.

The two rookies finished almost a week after Doug Swingley claimed his third Iditarod victory.

Of the record 81 mushers who began the race March fourth, 68 finished.
