Artists and crafters sought

Kenai Senior Connection's gift shop is accepting applications from area artists and crafters with high-quality work. The sales commission will be 35 percent as this is a fund-raising project for the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Applications and samples need to be submitted at the senior center. Applications are available at Odies Bead-it Shop, the Soldotna library, the senior center, the Kenai Art Guild or by calling the center. For more information or to make an appointment. CPHC board meeting slated

Soldotna chamber to meet

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House. The topic will be borough bed tax reform. For more information,call 262-9814.

Subsistence fish deadline looming

The deadline for submitting federal subsistence fisheries proposals is 5 p.m. Friday. Proposal forms are listed in the federal subsistence booklet online at asm/law.cfm?fpf=1 and can be obtained by calling (800) 478-1456.

Proposal topics may include changing season dates, harvest limits, methods and means of harvest, customary and traditional use determinations, rural determinations, methods of collecting harvest data, restrictions on possession, transportation and uses of fish, customary trade restrictions and permit requirements.

Completed forms must be submitted for each proposed change and should be mailed to: Federal Subsistence Board, c/o Office of Subsistence Management, 3601 C. Street, Suite 1030, Anchorage, AK 99503.

Child Find screening available

Frontier Community Services Early Childhood Intervention, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and Kenai Public Health Center will hold developmental screenings from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 8 at the Kenai Public Health office. Child Find screenings for children ages birth to 5, immunizations, vision and hearing screenings will be available. YCC applications available

The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is accepting applications for summer Youth Conservation Corps jobs for area youths ages 15 to 18.

Applications are available at the refuge, Alaska Employment Service Office in Kenai and from area high school counselors. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. April 15. For more information, call 262-7021.
