Nikiski church events slated

The Nikiski Church of the Nazarene has several events planned in March.

Today from 7 to 10 p.m. there will be a teen Easter egg preparation. Eggs will be filled and decorated.

Sunday school with an Easter egg hunt and family breakfast will be held March 31 at 9 a.m. At 10:45 is the Easter service, and family communion will be from 5 to 7 p.m.

Story of Passover to be presented

The story of Passover will be presented by Valerie Morin at the Kenai Christian Church from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Kenai. The cost is $7 for those who preregister. Cost at the door is $10. Child care will be provided for those preregistering.

Palm Sunday service offered

A holy Eucharist is planned for Palm Sunday this weekend at 10 a.m. at St. Francis By the Sea Episcopal Church in Kenai.

The church also plans a Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m. and holy Eucharist for Easter March 31. There will be a potluck lunch and Easter egg hunt before the service.

Special services planned in Kenai

Star of the North Lutheran Church in Kenai will hold a Palm Sunday worship service Sunday at 11 a.m. with a palm procession and children's skit at the beginning of the service.

On Thursday, Maundy Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. there will be a Christian Seder meal with potluck supper and holy communion. March 29 there will be a Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m. with special meditation time.

Easter Sunday, March 31, breakfast will be served in the basement at 9 a.m., followed by worship at 11 a.m.

Devotional gathering planned

An interfaith devotional gathering will be held at the Baha'i Center on Knight Drive in Soldotna Sunday at 2 p.m. All are invited to share holy writings or prayers on the theme of education as we worship together. AAJC to start fast Thursday

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church will observe a three-day purification fast beginning Thursday. The fast will be broken with communion on March 31 in a "Sonrise" service at 7 a.m.

Children's Sunday school activities to celebrate Jesus' victory will follow at 10:30 a.m., highlighted by special music, treats and a play.

An evening service at 5:30 will feature a Resurrection cantata by the adult choir.

Choir to perform for Easter

The 40-voice male chorus of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary will sing at Grace Lutheran Church and School at the 11 a.m. service March 31, Easter Sunday.

The concert will feature the unique sound of 40 mature, male voices, audience participation, instrumental accompaniment and traditional and contemporary religious music. There is no charge.
